At Ask Help Apps, we have developed this privacy policy (the "Privacy Policy") to demonstrate our commitment to protect your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes the practices concerning the information collected by the Ask Help Apps family of companies consisting of Ask Help Applications, Inc. and its affiliates ("Ask Help Apps", "we", "us" and "our") through the use of the (i) website and browser add-on (the "Ask Help Apps Product") and (ii) our "Search Application" made available by means of a search box on an Ask Help Apps Product from which you can access our search services. Collectively, we refer to the Ask Help Apps Product and the Search Application as the "Ask Help Apps Service".

Ask Help AppS SERVICES

The Ask Help Apps Service includes the primary browser add-on function allowing you to manage and convert your documents and search the internet by updating your new tab and homepage tab to myway.com.

The information we collect is used solely for the core functionality of the Ask Help Apps Service and to continually improve the Ask Help Apps Service that you choose to install. The Search Application provides core features that facilitate Internet search services while using the document conversion feature of the Ask Help Apps Product. This primary functionality may be implemented through browser settings and add-on that you choose to set your browser homepage and new tab page.

You may decline or opt-out of the Ask Help Apps Service by cancelling the applicable prompt during the download and installation process for the Ask Help Apps Product, by contacting our support team, or uninstalling the Ask Help Apps Service with a single action accessible within the browser or in the customary place in your browser.


A. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information from you in a variety of different ways, including the information you provide when you communicate directly with us and information we automatically collect when you use the Ask Help Apps Services. This includes information that may identify you and anonymous information, such as the number of your page views, link clicks, and login times.

Categories of Information:

Identifiers Your name, telephone number, email address, unique online identifier (UUID) or IP address. 

Personal Records Email address or username. 

Commercial information Records of products or services obtained, or considered, or other histories or tendencies.

Internet or other similar network activity Browsing history, search history, information on your interaction with the Search Application, or advertisement.

Geolocation data Physical location or movements which may be inferred from your IP address.

Sources of Information

1.    Information You Provide To Us

We may collect and store any information you choose to provide when using the Ask Help Apps Services. This may include information such as:

·      Your name and/or email address (in the provision of customer support/your data rights request).

2.    Automatically Captured Information

We automatically collect information from your computer when you use the Ask Help Apps Services. This allows us to assess how you have used the Ask Help Apps Services, the device you have used them on and helps us to analyze how we can optimize the Ask Help Apps Services for you. This information may include:

·      Internet Protocol (IP) address.

·      UUID.

·      Browser type/version and language and other browser-related information and a timestamp.

·      Features usage data that includes your interactions with the features provided by the Ask Help Apps Services.

·      Information about how you use the Search Applications such as the keyword query, search query text, search results clicked, Ask Help Apps hosted pages viewed and search history. For example, when you enter a search query using the Search Application, we receive the query text and process it, together with the above data, to return a search results page to you.

·      Cookies and Other Technologies: the Ask Help Apps Product Add-on does not install Cookies. However, in order to access and use features of the Search Application services, we may use cookies and similar technologies (such as local stored objects) in connection with the sites to collect and store information when you interact with the features of the Search Application. Certain information such as the content of any of our undeleted cookies, including a non-personal identifier and the referring website address. We may use standard Internet technology, such as web beacons, and other similar technologies, to track your use of the Search Application. The information we obtain in this manner enables us to customize the services we offer as part of the Ask Help Apps Services for our users. See our "Search Application Cookies" section below.

3.    Third Parties and Behavioral Advertising

Third Parties: We may allow third parties, including our authorized service providers, parent and subsidiary companies, affiliates, advertising companies, and ad networks, to display advertisements or place ad tags or beacons on the Ask Help Apps Services on the computer you use to access our Ask Help Apps Services and to track that device to across different websites for the purpose of serving advertising relevant to your interests. We do not control third parties' collection or use of information to serve interest-based advertising.

Behavioral Advertising: We may work with various companies (such as advertisers, ad networks and data management platforms) to tailor online ads that you see elsewhere on the internet, including through behavioral advertising designed to target users' interests and deliver more relevant advertising. To provide such ads, these third parties may collect and/or we may disclose to these third parties a unique ID that may be associated with your device's platform or a device/internet browser combination.

We or these third parties may collect the following information:

·      Demographic data collected on Ask Help Apps Services (e.g., age, zip or postal code, gender) and geographic location derived from your IP address on your visits to the Ask Help Apps Services and non-affiliated websites and applications;

·      Data about your use of or visits to the Ask Help Apps Services and non-affiliated websites and applications;

·      Data on your interaction with the advertisement displayed on third party websites and applications; and

·      Interest and usage data (the pages you view and links you click on);

·      We may disclose any or all of the collected information to third parties.

We or these third parties may use the collected information to provide advertisements of interest to you on certain Ask Help Apps Services and non-affiliated websites and applications and for other purposes described in this privacy policy and to improve or customize our products.

4.    Do Not Track Signals

Ask Help Apps Services systems are not configured to respond to Web browser "do not track" signals or other mechanisms that provide consumers the ability to exercise choice regarding the collection of personally identifiable information about an individual consumer's online activities over time and across third-party Web sites or online services.

5.    Legal Basis for Processing Your Information

To process your information, we rely on the following legal basis:

·      Provide you with the Ask Help Apps Services: We process your information is to perform the contract that you have with us. For instance, as you go about using our service, we use your information to provide you with a more customized and personal experience.

·      Legitimate interests: We may use your information where we have legitimate interests to do so. For instance, we analyze users’ behavior on our services to continuously improve our offerings, ensure it is bug free, and we process information for administrative, fraud detection and other legal purposes.

·      Consent: From time to time, we may ask for your consent to use your information for certain specific reasons. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at the address provided at the end of this Privacy Policy.

B. SEARCH APPLICATION COOKIES

The Ask Help Apps Product Add-on itself does not install Cookies. However, in order to access and use certain features of the Search Application services, we may use cookies and similar technologies (such as local stored objects) to collect and store information when you interact with the features of the Search Application. We, and certain third parties we work with e.g. ad networks and data management platforms, may also use these technologies to better target ads to you based on your online browsing activities.

If you do not accept the use of these cookies, please disable them by following the 'opt-out' links provided below or by changing your browser settings so that cookies from this Search Application service cannot be placed on your computer.

There are two (2) broad categories of cookies:

·      First party cookies, served directly by us to your computer.

·      Third party cookies, which are served by a third party. We use third party cookies for functionality, performance / analytics and advertising (including to target ads to you).

Cookies can remain on your computer for different periods of time. Some cookies are 'session cookies', meaning that they exist only while your browser is open. These are deleted automatically once you close your browser. Other cookies are 'permanent cookies', meaning that they survive after your browser is closed. They can be used by the Search Application to recognize your computer when you open your browser and browse the Internet again.

We use cookies to:

·      track traffic flow and patterns of travel in connection with the Search Application and to track, manage and optimize your interactions with us;

·      understand the total number of visitors to our websites and the types of internet browser and operating systems used by our visitors;

·      monitor the performance of the Search Application and to continually improve them;

·      customize and enhance your online experience by the serving advertisements to you based on your online interests; and

·      enable Ask Help Apps and third-party advertising both on and off this Search Application, and evaluate the effectiveness of that advertising.

Types of cookies:

The types of cookies used by us and our partners in connection with the Search Application can be classified into the following categories, namely essential Search Application cookies, functionality cookies, analytics and performance cookies and advertising cookies.

Information about each category, and the purposes of the cookies we and third parties are set in the following:

Essential Cookies - these cookies are essential to provide you with the Search Application available through the Ask Help Apps Services and to use some of its features. Without these cookies, services you have asked for would not be possible.

Functionality Cookies - Functionality cookies record information about certain choices you've made and allow us to tailor Search Application to you. These cookies mean that when you continue to use or come back to the Search Application, we can provide you with our service as you have asked for them to be provided. For example, these cookies allow us to: 

·      Save your location preference if you have set your location on your homepage, if applicable, in order to receive a local weather forecast;

·      Remember certain settings you have applied; and

·      Store accessibility options.

Performance / Analytics Cookies - We use performance/analytics cookies to analyze how the Search Application is accessed, used, or performing in order to provide you with a better user experience and to maintain, operate and improve the Search Application. For example, these cookies allow us to:        

·      Better understand our Search Application visitors so that we can improve how we present our content;

·      Test different design ideas for particular pages;

·      Collect information about site visitors such as where they are located and what browsers they are using;

·      Determine the number of unique users of the Search Application;

·      Improve the Search Application by measuring any errors that occur; and

·      Conduct research and diagnostics to improve product offerings.

You can opt-out through Google Ads Settings, Ad Settings for mobile apps, or any other available means (for example, the NAI's consumer opt-out listed above). Google also provides a Google Analytics opt-out plug-in for the web.

Advertising and Tracking Cookies - As you use our Search Application, you will notice featured advertising. We allow third party companies, including advertising companies and ad networks, to place cookies on our Search Application. These cookies enable such companies to track your activity across various sites where they display ads and record your activities so they can show ads that they consider relevant to you as you browse the web. Cookies also allow us and third parties to know whether you've seen an ad or a type of ad, and how long it has been since you've last seen it. This information is used for frequency capping purposes, to help tailor the ads you see, and to measure the effectiveness of ads.

All the ad companies or networks that we work with have their own privacy policies and offer a mechanism for users to opt out tracking and behavioral targeting available through the ad itself or through the opt out mechanisms listed in the 'How to control or delete cookies' section below. See the section on "Third Parties and Behavioral Advertising" for more information about how we and our third party advertising partners and network use cookies and similar technologies to deliver behavioral targeted advertising.

How to control or delete cookies:

You have the right to choose whether or not to accept cookies. Please note that if you choose to refuse cookies you may not be able to use the full functionality of our Search Application. Please follow the instructions on how to access and manage your Cookie settings in Firefox.

Please bear in mind that there are many more companies listed on these sites than those that drop cookies via the Ask Help Apps Services.

C. HOW WE USE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We may use information that we collect about you to:

·      Deliver the Ask Help Apps Services to you;

·      Respond to your queries with the best possible answers and search results;

·      Provide you with customer support;

·      Perform research and analysis about your use of, or interest in, the Ask Help Apps Services, or products, services or content offered by others;

·      Communicate with you by e-mail or other display media about products or services that may be of interest to you either from us, our IAC affiliates or other third parties;

·      Enable us and our search and advertising partners to develop and display content and advertising tailored to your interests, when you use the Ask Help Apps Services;

·      Enforce our terms and conditions;

·      Manage our business and protect the quality of the Ask Help Apps Services, which includes maintenance of the Ask Help Apps Services systems;

·      Investigate complaints, abuse or other allegations; and

·      Perform functions as otherwise described to you at the time of collection.


D. WITH WHOM WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

We share your information with others as indicated below:

1.    Authorized service providers: We may share your information with our authorized service providers that perform certain services on our behalf. In certain instances, these service providers may collect information directly from you on our behalf. These services may include:

·      providing customer service, technical and operational support;

·      marketing assistance, performing business and sales analysis; and

·      supporting our Ask Help Apps Services functionality, as well as when you have requested that we do so, including processing your search queries.

These service providers may have access to information, which is needed to perform their functions and provide you with the Ask Help Apps Services.

2.    Advertisers and Ad Networks: As described above advertisers and ad networks, and other third parties may collect information themselves from the Ask Help Apps Services (or we may provide them with the information described above) for purposes of delivering relevant ads. This assists us in advertising our services and in providing you with relevant ads based on your browsing interests.

3.    Business partners: When you engage with content offered through the Ask Help Apps Services, we may share information with the businesses with which we partner to offer you those products and/or services.

4.    Group Companies: We may share your information with our affiliates, which are entities under common ownership or control of our ultimate parent company, IAC/InterActive Corp for security, internal reporting and regulatory compliance or for business intelligence to improve user experience.

5.    Other Situations: We may disclose your information (i) in good faith compliance with a subpoena or similar investigative demand, a court order, or a request for cooperation from a law enforcement or other government agency, (ii) in connection with efforts to investigate, prevent, or take other action regarding illegal activity, suspected fraud or other wrongdoing; (iii) to protect and defend the rights, property or safety of our company, our users, our employees, or others; (iv) to comply with applicable law or cooperate with law enforcement; (v) to enforce our terms and conditions or other agreements or policies; and (vi) in connection with a substantial corporate transaction, such as the sale of our business (or a majority of the assets of either), a divestiture, merger, consolidation, or asset sale, or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy. In addition, we may share aggregated information we collect, under any of the above circumstances, with third parties, including advisors, advertisers and investors, for the purpose of conducting general business analysis.

E. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION

We only keep your personal information as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy including for legitimate business purposes and as permitted by applicable law. We will only use your information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve any legal issues, enforce our agreements, and as otherwise described in this policy.


F. WHERE WE STORE YOUR INFORMATION

Information we collect, or permit third parties to collect may be transferred to, stored and processed outside your country of residence in any country or territory where one or more of our affiliated group companies, third party service providers or advertising companies or advertising networks are located or maintain facilities, including but not limited to the United States.

When your information is moved from your home country to another country, we ensure that such a transfer is done legally. For users based in the European Economic Area (“EEA”), we may rely on the Model Clauses a standard document created by the European Commission to facilitate data transfers while ensuring that safeguards are put in place for personal information. We do not participate in the EU-US Privacy Shield, but we may rely on it to transfer personal information to some of our service providers based in the USA, provided they are certified to receive such personal information pursuant to the Privacy Shield.



G. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES

There may be places in the Ask Help Apps Services where you may click on a link to access other websites that do not operate under this Privacy Policy. For example, if you click on an advertisement, you may be taken to a website that we do not control. These third-party websites may independently solicit and collect information, from you and, in some instances, provide us with information about your activities on those websites. We recommend that you consult the privacy policy of all third-party websites you visit.

H. YOUR DATA RIGHTS

You may have some or all of the following rights in relation to how we use your information:

·      Access: you may request access to your information and receive copies of it.

·      Correction: to have inaccurate/incomplete information corrected and updated.

·      Object to, or Limit or Restrict, Use of your Information: You can ask us to stop using all or some of your information or to limit our use of it.

·      Deletion: in certain circumstances, you can request a right “to be forgotten” (this is a right to have your information deleted or our use of your information restricted, including for example, a right to not have a user’s name appear in a search result). We will honor such requests unless we have to retain this information to comply with a legal obligation by European or Member State law or unless we have an overriding interest to retain it.

·      Portability/The Right to Obtain your Personal Data: in certain circumstances, exercise the right to data portability (this is a right to obtain a transferable version of your information to transfer to another provider).

·      Consent Management: Where we rely on consent to process your information, you may withdraw consent at any time.

Keep in mind, we may reject requests for certain reasons, including if the request is unlawful or if it may infringe on the rights and freedoms of another person.

I. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Our Ask Help Apps Services are intended for general audiences over the age of 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 18 years old. If you are not over 18 years old, then DO NOT DOWNLOAD OR USE THE Ask Help AppS SERVICES.

J. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

The security and confidentiality of your information is very important to us; thus, we take certain security measures (including physical, electronic and procedural measures) to help safeguard your information from unauthorized access and disclosure. Please know that, despite our best efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.

K. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We will occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices and services. We recommend that you check this page, or the help menu within an Ask Help Apps Service, from time to time to inform yourself of any changes in this Privacy Policy.

L. INFORMATION FOR RESIDENTS OF CALIFORNIA: YOUR CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) may provide you with rights that are in addition to those set forth elsewhere in this Privacy Policy rights regarding our use of your personal information.The CCPA Notice applies to “Consumers” as defined by the law. This section describes your CCPA rights as a California Consumer and explains how to exercise those rights. Access to Information and Data Portability Rights You have the right to send us a request, no more than twice in a twelve-month period, for any of the following for the period that is twelve months prior to the request date:

·      The categories of personal information we have collected about you.

·      The categories of sources from which we collected your personal information.

·      The business or commercial purposes for our collecting or selling your personal information.

·      The categories of third parties to whom we have shared your personal information.

·      The specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.

·      A list of the categories of personal information disclosed for a business purpose in the prior 12 months, or that no disclosure occurred.

·      A list of the categories of personal information sold about you in the prior 12 months, or that no sale occurred. If we sold your personal information, we will explain:

o  The categories of your personal information we have sold.

o  The categories of third parties to which we sold personal information, by categories of personal information sold for each third party.

You have the right to make or obtain a transportable copy, no more than twice in a twelve-month period, of your personal information that we have collected in the period that is 12 months prior to the request date and are maintaining.

Data Deletion Rights:

Except to the extent we have a basis for retention under CCPA, you may request that we delete your personal information that we have collected directly from you and are maintaining. Note also that we are not required to delete your personal information that we did not collect directly from you.

Exercising Your Rights:

To make a request for access, portability or deletion according to your rights under CCPA, click here We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm that the personal information relates to you. Any request you submit to us is subject to an identification and residency verification process (“Verifiable Consumer Request”). The Verifiable Consumer Request must:

·      Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information or an authorized representative; and

·      Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.

Some personal information we maintain about Consumers is not sufficiently associated with enough personal information about the Consumer for us to be able to verify that it is a particular Consumer’s personal information (e.g., clickstream data tied only to a pseudonymous browser ID). As required by the CCPA, we do not include that personal information in response to Verifiable Consumer Requests. If we cannot comply with a request, we will explain the reasons in our response.

We will make commercially reasonable efforts to identify Consumer personal information that we collect, process, store, disclose, and otherwise use and to respond to your California Consumer privacy rights requests. We will typically not charge a fee to fully respond to your requests, but we may charge a reasonable fee, or refuse to act upon a request, if your request is excessive, repetitive, unfounded, or overly burdensome.

We do not “sell” personal information that we collect from you, in accordance with the definition of “sell” in the CCPA, and will treat personal information we collect from you as subject to a do not sell request. There is not yet a consensus as to whether third party cookies and tracking devices associated with our websites and mobile apps may constitute a “sale” of your personal information as defined by the CCPA.

We will not discriminate against you in a manner prohibited by the CCPA because you exercise your CCPA rights. However, we may charge a different price or rate, or offer a different level or quality of good or service, to the extent that doing so is reasonably related to the value of the applicable data. In addition, we may offer you financial incentives for the collection, sale and retention and use of your personal information as permitted by the CCPA that can, without limitation, result in reasonably different prices, rates, or quality levels. The material aspects of any financial incentive will be explained and described in its program terms. We may add or change incentive programs and/or their terms by posting notice on the program descriptions and terms linked to above so check them regularly.

California's "Shine the Light" law, Civil Code section 1798.83, requires certain businesses to respond to requests from California customers asking about the businesses' practices related to disclosing personal information to third parties for the third parties' direct marketing purposes. Alternately, such businesses may have in place a policy not to disclose personal information of customers to third parties for the third parties' direct marketing purposes if the customer has exercised an option to opt-out of such information-sharing. As discussed above, if we share Personal Information with third parties for their marketing purposes you will be able to elect for us not to do so by submitting your request here (please include your name, mailing address, and email address).

M. YOUR NEVADA RIGHTS

Under Nevada law, Nevada residents may opt out of the “sale” of certain “covered information” (as defined under Nevada law) collected by operators of websites or online services. We currently do not sell covered information, as “sale” is defined by Nevada law, and we do not have plans to sell this information. However, if you would like to be notified if we decide in the future to sell personal information covered by the Act, please contact us at support@askhelpfinder.com. You are responsible for updating any change in your email address by the same method and we are not obligated to cross-reference other emails you may have otherwise provided us for other purposes. We will maintain this information and contact you if our practices change.
